ABOUT US

Black Woman in Higher Ed is a nonprofit organization created by Black women for Black women. The purpose of BWIHE is to positively represent and celebrate Black women in spaces where we tend to be overlooked. As a nonprofit, we use our resources to support Black women in their educational pursuits both financially and professionally. BWIHE also exists to create a network of Black women who can connect to and support each other in their various academic and career fields.

We believe that Higher Education starts at the elementary and junior level. This is why we are dedicated to working with elementary school and high school students to ensure they are given the proper tools for success. Our leaders have experienced first-hand the ways in which our education system often times does a disservice to Black women. At BWIHE, we have decided to take matters into our own hands and commit to the educational attainment of our peers and the generations to follow.
